About Stefan Lindegaard

Who am I? What do I do? What do I want to achieve with this blog? Good questions.

The short version is that I am 39 years old. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I have a nice little family with two lovely girls and I enjoy sports, movies, gadgets and other things.

I have always wanted to start things, and, having started four companies, I know a lot about entrepreneurship. In 2001, I decided to take my insights as an entrepreneur into the corporate world, and since then I have been helping companies on innovation strategies and how to identify and develop the people who drive innovation.

Today, I have a strong focus on open innovation and you can follow my work on 15inno.com. This is my outlet for my thoughts and ideas that have earned me recognition and respect as a thought leader and expert on the topic of open innovation.

Yes, I am a thought leader and an expert. It took me some time to admit this, but enough people have told me so that now I also realize that it’s true. It also helped when I published my first international book, The Open Innovation Revolution as a follow-up to my first book, Next Stop: Open Innovation (Danish only) and as I write this, I have just sold the Portuguese rights to The Open Innovation Revolution.

So I am a thought leader and an expert. Everything should be just fine. In many ways, things are fine. Client engagements are finally picking up and I get to travel the world to attend my clients and give talks at conferences. But I am still waiting for that big breakthrough that enables me to just sit back and let clients approach me with interesting and high-paying assignments that also satisfy my intellect. This has to be the vision or dream of all aspiring thought leaders and experts.

I am amazed on how long and how hard my journey has been so far – and I am not even there yet. This is what this blog is about. I will share my experiences, insights, successes and failures on how to become a thought leader and expert.

It will be a very personal and honest blog in which I will try hard to present my writings in a way that inspires you as well as provides you with practical tips you can use on your own journey to becoming a thought leader and expert.

One lesson I am learning the hard way is that you cannot do everything by yourself. Thus, I hope that you will participate actively on this blog. Post comments and share your own insights and experiences.

I look forward to an interesting journey in company with lots of great people…
